Location: Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
* Work with the drilling team and geologic team to plan horizontal wells
* Develop a drillable directional plan
* Write drilling programs based on the directional plan and
geology in the area
* Monitor and coordinate landing the horizontal lateral
* Help geo-steer as needed
* Write end of well reports
* QA/QC daily drilling reports received from the field via
Wellview reporting software
* Direct drilling operations
* Review, recommend, administer drilling policy and procedures
* Stay current of drilling trends, techniques and technologies
* Manage contractors and contracts to ensure performance and
expenditure control. (Work with drilling, purchasing and legal staff)
* Inform management of relevant conditions and activity that may impact
drilling program
Education:
* BS (MS preferred) in an Engineering discipline
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of software: Wellview, Landmark's Compass program,
Torque & Drag program and hydraulics program
* Marcellus horizontal drilling experience is a double plus
* Thorough knowledge of engineering processes related to
exploration and production of natural gas
* Ability to use Word and Excel
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Detail-oriented; capable of multi-tasking
* Strong organizational and presentation skills
* 10+ years experience in engineering practices related to drilling
and horizontal drilling natural gas and / or oil
