Location: Pittsburgh Area
Overview:
Ensure implementation of industry safety standards for drilling and completions Technical advisor and coach -- to company and contractor personnel
Responsibilities:
Inspections, assessments, safety meetings, risk identification, risk analysis,risk assessments, incident investigation, incident reporting, environmental issues and compliance
Develop a strong safety culture
Assist development of company HES procedures
Coach operational personnel on implementation of HES policies and procedures
In the field, provide HES-related technical support
Submit progress reports to HES Manager
Conduct audits.
Assist development of audit protocols, manuals, audit-related checklists
Roll out new procedures and systems
Provide ongoing guidance.
Develop training materials
Conduct onsite training and drills
Interpret data for management and operations
Education
Bachelor’s Degree: Safety, related sciences or engineering (preferred)
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Experience
7-10 years experience in Drilling and Completions Safety
Qualifications
Up-to-date knowledge of fire systems, equipment, maintenance and testing
Proficient in HAZID, Permit to Work (PTW), accident investigation and root cause analysis.
Reviews sites for OSHA compliance; such as electrical grounding, confined space entry, trip hazards, fall protection, HAZCOM, PPE, etc.
Leads safety meetings and conducts safety audits
Writes concise reports
Computer literate: in MS Excel and Word
Insists on adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures
Retention Bonus: 2 years of work = 3 years of salary
You get a retention bonus of 50% of your 1st year salary after 1 year.
You get another 50% after the 2nd year.
Addendum:
The company tells that they take safety issues seriously.
The Safety Department has 10 members.
They have 8 Field Safety Specialists, 4 of whom are fairly new.
These Safety Coordinators report to a Director who reports to a VP.
It is a non-bureaucratic environment. The president is on-site and anyone can walk into his office for a chat. There is no red tape when you need answers to important questions.
