Niche Job Boards Blossom

But newspapers still king

Blossom_bialikOnline job boards don't reach the majority of job seekers.

Even so, some cities are serviced by 100 of them covering every type of job including cruise-ship musicians and professional dancers.

Many of the niche boards are associated with hard copy magazines and trade publications.

And, every local market has different leaders. Craigslist or Monster lead in some ciities, but in smaller markets the daily newspaper site rules.

Note: This is an old story -- from January 2006. (I got it from Gorgo). Mark Cenedella challenged the high earnings claimed for online job boards by Borrell Assoc but old man Borrell, himself, rebutted him in the comments section of Cenedella's blog
