Dave Mendoza is getting out soon going to start a blog.
He's a LinkedIn Super-Stud so I'm going to throw out some questions.
1. Aren't all the LinkedIn superstuds linked to the same people so that if you link to one there isn't any point in wasting invitations on the others?
Know what I'm shayin'?

Yes, all of us LinkedIn high-connectors know each other intimately (Dave's chest hair is very furry ;-). Seriously, though, two points:
1) you're counting on the reach of SECOND degree contacts of these stud-nodes (which is still part of your 3rd degree network), and that's when the list of connections starts to diverge dramatically;
2) you shouldn't have to worry about "wasting" invitations. If you're in good standing with LinkedIn, I found it's not hard to email support and ask for an additional 500 invitations.
