Mendozaaaa! Hates Neil Bruce

Because Neil thinks Dave is as useful as a second door knob.

Mendy_and_neil_1Mendozaaa! has posted a vitriolic rejoinder to recent statements made by Monster's VP of Alliances. Why? Because, he claims, Neil Bruce is a half-baked, blinkered nobody who goes from show to show trumpeting his worthless message that blogs are nothing and sourcers are headed for the trash heap of history.

According to Angry Dave, Neil can't hold a candle to real men of vision like Jay-Dee Jason Davis, the Seer of Recruiting.com, or Shally Elvis Steckerl, the teen idol of salivating sourcers the world over. (The Recruiting Animal was not mentioned).

Neil thinks that in the future recruiting will be fully automated and it's odd that Dozie didn't mention Don JGo Jason Goldberg because I suspect that the prophet of Jobsterism would definitely agree. My proof? Remember this?

And, Job Seekers, I haven't forgotten you. Today, online job search is nothing if not miserable. But, tomorrow, you won't have to look for work. If electronic networking can find you a date, why on earth can't it can find you a job? I say it can and, at Jobster, what I say goes!

Update: Dozie is happy to report that his attack on Neil Bruce has scored him his biggest "kick ass!" day on Six Degrees of Dave.

Leave it to my friend, Recruiting Animal, to egg on a Wrestling match.

C’mon, RA! I never said I hated the tall and handsome devil. We simply have a disagreement about the value and reach of blogs and sourcing for passive quality candidates.

Unlike what Recruiting Animal suggests, it’s not “Angry Dave” and it’s not a “vitriolic” attack. I simply disagree with Neil Bruce’s comments attacking Jay Dee and our fellow bloggers in the recruiting Blogosphere and Shally and our circle of sourcing gurus.

Perhaps people find it “vitriolic” because of the weather comments …. but you see … he said it, not me. I didn’t say unnamed sourcing gurus were a fad, Neil Bruce did.

So you see, if you add phrases like “recruitment blogs are as useful as weather forecasts” and “XXX is a fad, I give him two to three years tops” ….. what you get is a mean spirited refutation of the rational here and now, and personal comments -- NOT BY ME, but by Monster's representative. I felt strongly that his comments at the Recruiting Roundtable should be addressed. On both points, the comments expressed are not my sentiments, I am only reporting them as I heard them and as my colleague Denni Smith likewise posted upon to address Neil's statements.

One thing above all, for those who know me well, I am fiercely loyal and when I hear a community I believe in is being attacked and when sourcing gurus like myself are called "Fads" -- I call them on it. I defend what needs defending, nothing less.

Guilty of "hate" ... no. Vitriolic? ... no.

Just stating the facts.
