I'm not sure where Lou is getting his numbers but Paul Hawkinson (The Fordyce Letter) surveys his 30K readers annually. I talked to him this week in preparation for a speech I'm delivering at NAPS, and these are his results for Perm recruiters who responded to his most recent survey. These numbers are for total cash in - 1985, and typically contingency or committed fee recruiters with a year or greater tenure.
$230K - Solo Independent
$234K - Independent office multiple recruiters
$239K - Franchise Recruiter (ie MRI, etc.)
For what it's worth he also feels Finance and Accounting is the HOT discipline followed by sales and that fees are hovering around 25% for most recruiters with the exception of Sales which is lower in most cases.
