"Take advantage of your leading edge!"

Just because my competitors are Luddites doesn't mean I'm on the wrong track. I'm an Early Adopter of a future Mainstream Technology.

According to Mr Moustache, recruiting bloggers are "perfectly positioned to overtake corporate communications". Because the pros have been caught in one of their usual historic naps.
To them, social media are a fad for the goofy fringe. But recruiters recognize them as plates full of honey that can reach out to the people they long to attract.
What does overtaking corporate communications mean? I'm not completely sure.
Moustache says that the tardiness of the pros gives us the opportunity to "make a play for" the big communication vehicle of future: blogs. But we have to watch out because those pros will catch up -- in three years time. And they know how to make money from the things we are doing now.
"Maybe we need to have a talk," says Moustache, "I see potential cash generators all over the place on your blogs."
Here's a bit more of Moustache's thinking summarized from his own blog:
The question is: who will be the social media experts of the future? It's a horse race and the recruiting industry seems to be among the early leaders.
Recruiter blogging is light years ahead of other industries because they have the foundation for a niche industry.
Advertising, marketing and PR are still debating what recruiting already resolved two years ago.
Recruiting blogging is not yet story sourced by traditional media but that may change.
Unless communication pros wake to social media they will end up taking orders from recruiting bloggers just as they became subordinate to IT guys who beat the comm pros to Web 1.0.

Hey, I don't wear a hat!
Seriously, great sum. I appreciate it. I left a clarification comment on overtaking corporate communications at RecruitingBloggers.com
