Wounded JGo Blames Bloggers

Mobocracy did me in, he claims.

JayDee broke his non-compete agreement with Jobster.

So Don JGo pulled out his shotgun but was forced to let JayDee go scot free when the Recruitosphere cast him as the nasty Philistine pursuing a servant of the people.

Naturally, JGo is mad and has lashed out at the great unwashed who engineered his defeat.

Citizen journalists leap before looking. They act on emotions rather than facts. They hit the publish button before truly thinking about the ramifications.

He bows to the public with this hilarious capper which is supposed to take the edge off of his attack.

Don't get me wrong -- it's not a bad thing

But a snarling Carlton doesn't buy it and bites back.

Another pompous response from a spoiled little brat unwilling to admit his mistakes. Dissect his post for a moment and read how insulting he is to the people that dared to voice strongly worded opinions about his blunder.

Here is something funny. Don JGo brags that he spent time in the White House as a spin doctor. I mean he worked in media relations. Yet here he is, surprised by the audience with which he supposedly has expertise. (Say, wasn't there a TV show about him starring Michael J Fox?).

Proud Papa Pleased As Punch

At JayDee-Jobster Reconciliation.

At first Papa took a righteous stand and advised JayDee to concede:

I have talked with Jason Davis 15 times since he got that legal letter. It's been my suggestion to Jason Davis that if he has a non-compete clause and he signed it, he should be a gentleman and honor it.

But then, he was pleased as can be to see his offspring smoke the peace pipe.

Nice work, Jasons. Everyone wins.

Come on, people now,
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Gotta love one another right now!

Gen Y Women Sexually Depraved

When you cut through all the bombast about the depravity of young people, especially young women, who’s sin apparently is that they told a Post reporter that they were enjoying their sex lives, the portrait the Wolfe was painting of the Millennial Generation (he did not use this term) was disturbing and dangerous.

Somebody Blinked

And I think it was JGo.

All is now kissy kissy bang bang between the two Jasons. Don JGo claims that he never wanted to restrict JayDee in any way. That's why he sent him that lawyer's letter. And JayDee says he sowwy if he made anybody feel bad. "Aw shucks, Don JGo, I did sign that contract but all that small print makes my head spin!"

Cynics take: JayDee played it well by going public. When JGo saw the bad publicity he remembered the chant his psychiatrist taught him, "Easy does it. Let go, let go. Release the source of conflict"

When I find myself in times of trouble
Dr Henry comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be.

We mostly talked about the Jobster's battle with JayDee over his non-compete agreement. But toward the end we had an interesting discussion about websites and blogs.

How To Sell Yourself

The way to sell yourself to a company is with one one simple selling point which can be delivered in a clear and memorable manner. The other elements of your presentation are supporting arguments for this main thesis.

Facebook vs MySpace

Class and cultural divide.

Facebook: School oriented college kids

MySpace
- newer immigrants and ethnics whose parents are not interested in higher education
- socially ostracized teens (burnouts, alternative kids, art fags punks, emos, goths, gangstas, queers, geeks, freaks)
- teens who are really into music or in a band

People Can Change Under Pressure

It's an unpleasant fact.

"Neighbours recalled yesterday how Beckford went from being a happy, smiling and helpful man to becoming brooding and resentful after losing his job five weeks ago." -- Toronto Star

All About Non-Competes

A reader writes.

Seeing that Recruitingblogs.com does not infringe on trade secrets, customers or impose unfair competition to Jobster I think that Jason Davis can rest easily…More to come but some useful tid-bits below

1. The purpose of enforcing a non-compete agreement "is to protect an employer from unfair competition by a former employee without imposing unreasonable restraint on the later."

2. Protection of the employer, not punishment of the employee, is the essence of the law.

3. An employer cannot extract a restrictive covenant from an employee merely to protect himself from competition.

4. The Supreme Court of has stated that "[a]greements of this kind restrain commerce and limit the employee's freedom to pursue his or her trade." Therefore, "enforcement of such . . . agreements is carefully restricted.

5. They are enforceable only if a legitimate protectable interest of the employer is served.
