Don't Mess With My Career
Back in the Fifties, the smart money was on Mitch Miller, head honcho at Columbia Records....It was Miller who insisted that Frank record “Mama Will Bark”, a doggy duet with the big-breasted Swede Dagmar, which, as the lyric puts it, is “the doggone-dest thing you ever heard”.
Sinatra quit Columbia but never forgave Miller. Years later, they chanced to be crossing a Vegas lobby from opposite ends. Miller extended his hand in friendship; Sinatra snarled, “F**k you! Keep walking.”
