Last night I watched The Eiger Sanction. It wasn't very good but I found one thing interesting.
The hero is Clint Eastwood. He's a macho mountain climber and killer but he's cautious. His character complains repeatedly that they shouldn't be using a route up a mountain that doesn't allow for an easy retreat.
The leader of the climb is arrogant, however, and dismisses Clint's concerns. He says that they won't need to retreat but (Spoiler Alert) bad weather comes, they do need to retreat and all the climbers die except Clint - who has to be saved by a team from the base.
The filming was actually done on a difficult climb. There were serious accidents and, ironically, a cameraman who fell and was hurt:
blamed Eastwood for the accident for lack of preparation, describing him as a director and actor as "a very impatient man who doesn't really plan his pictures or do any homework. He figures he can go right in and sail through these things"

I get a lot of poorly written junk mail from Indian recruiters. The author is always a total stranger but invariably begins the letter with a how are you old pal greeting as if he knows me.
This phoniness pisses me off so I started posting this garbage on my blog for everyone to see and today I got a comment from one of the culprits asking me to take the posting down.
can you please delete this post as its got my personal info as my cell phone number!
What a laugh. He can send his trash here there and everywhere like a dog marking trees then claim that he doesn't want his contact info made public. Does that make sense?

Dear Recruiting Professional.
My name is Dr Vaughan Hornby, PhD. I am a trained investigator of cults and I'm sure it will come as no suprise when I tell you that the leading vehicles of cult recruitment today are the new social media.
I was asked recently by a concerned friend to investigate a streaming audio podcast called the Recruiting Animal Show.
I will be issuing the results soon in a white paper but to get straight to the point, let me ask those of you who listen, have you ever wondered about those mysterious noises that you hear the Animal complaining about on every single show?
