Let's Get Together And Do It Again
A guy knew he flubbed his interview. So, Deb Dib told him to correct his errors and sell hard for another shot in the ring.
First, he let his recruiter know that he was going to contact the company. Then he:
1. Acknowledged to the interviewers that he'd bombed the first meeting
2. Re-presented his value proposition
3. Closed by asking if they were ready to let a guy like him go without a second glance.
They saw him again and he made it to the short list.
He claims that his tenacity was a huge selling point.
I don't think so. Lots of losers are tenacious. Quite simply, his credentials and his second pitch must have been pretty good to get him a second chance.
The moral? If you've got something good to sell and you're a good salesman, don't fold after an initial screw up.
