Two new critics appeared on RecruitingBloggers.com this week. Both claim that the information on recruiter.blogs is worthless.
All recruiting blogs are worthless and designed by people for people who have nothing really to say.... I've yet to find a recruiting blog that had content worth reading.
The silly names by people who think they know everything about recruiting is embarrasing to the profession..... I do believe that company blogs add value to the job seeker and can help fill positions faster.
I look at these blogs and wonder when the real information will come in.... Really getting tired of the Same ole same ole inate [sic] conversations and same ole same ole people being publicized...
I'm sorry to say it but these commenters are a shame to our profession. Do you want valuable, free information? How about this short but comprehensive piece on online networking. Most of the regulars know these things because we've reading about them for some time but to anyone else, it's a goldmine.
Does Maureen Sharib hold back about sourcing? No. Does Glenn Gutmacher hold back about internet sourcing? No. Does Shally Elvis Steckerl hold back? No. Does Peter Gold have intriguing recommendations for career sites? Yes. Can anyone help Simon Meth? I don't know.
Are the blogs limited to the same old faces? No. Recruitomatic, YourHRguy, Dave Mendoza, Jason Alba, Restaurant Recruiter, Internet Recruiting: those guys are fairly new on the scene but the established blogs link to them regularly and the live feeds on Recruiting Animal, RecruitingBloggers, Recruiting.com, Recruiting Fly, The Day in Recruiting, RecruitingBlogs (and elsewhere, I'm sure,) track them.
So, anonymous and Slow-Witted, come on back and show us what we should do. I dare you.
