Chris "CM" Russell, The Recruiting Fly, has used the customized search technology to create a search engine that zaps through a number of online social networks at the same time. (Jobster Profiles, LinkedIn, Ryze, Ziggs, ZoomInfo).
It's called Talent Search. I haven't played around with it but the idea is pretty amazing.
