And I want to give a special salute to JimStroud. He's had a lot of pictures but the one he has now is the only one that's ever done him justice. I love the colors. Congratulations, Jim. But the winner of the Recruiting Animal Award for Icon of 2009 is someone else.
She put up this picture of herself on Twitter in which she's got this Just-try-me-Buster attitude. And, then, as if that's not bad enough she bathed it in green in honour of regime change in Iran.
At Recruitfest, I called out her name so I could interview her and no battle-axe came forward. So I called her again and again and this person kept standing in front of me pointing at her head. "Hey lady," I said, "Get out of the way!" And, of course, that was Karla who looked nothing like her picture.
She must have learned her lesson because then she went on an icon rampage. She changed her picture everyday and I liked a lot of them. She had a good one with her hand on her chin and another looking into a magnifying glass and another as a Vulcan and another as a monster.
In a world where very few people understand the significance of an icon she's become the master of the icon. I notice that she doesn't share her knowledge with interns but that's another issue. Congratulations to Karla Porter, the Icon Queen of 2009.
