The Philosophy of Sucking Up

As you probably know, there's a hot new movie that just came out and it's called Kick Ass.

It's about ordinary people who adopt super hero identities and go out in the world to fight the bad guys.

I think there was a movie about that before with Ben Stiller but this is another one. And I was thinking that this show, the Recruiting Animal Show, is kind of like the Kick Ass of recruiting world.

We've got the Money Honey, The Rottweiler, the Boy Wonder, Indy Andy, The Menopausal Witch. Everybody's a character and every week we're here fighting for truth, justice and the North American Way.

And one of the ways we kick ass on this show is just by calling a spade a spade.

Jeff Davidson, The Idiot's Guide

Do you remember Jeff Davidson? Jeffrey P Davidson? I told you about him last week.

He's the self-help author who threatened to sue me because two years ago, in December 2007, someone - the Money Honey - copied paragraph headings from another site and posted them on my group blog. It turns out that this stuff came from one of Jeff's articles.

She posted a link back to the original site and his name wasn't on the article she quoted but that didn't stop him from going rangees on me. Do you know what Rangees means?

A friend of mine used to be a counselor at a children's camp and rangees is what they called it when one of the kids went berserk and they had to hold him down.

Self-Help Author Attacks Animal

I had a run-in recently with a self-help author.

On Good Friday afternoon I received an email from Jeffrey P Davidson, author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Assertiveness.

And after my experience with Jeff, I can only assume that his book has been aptly named because Jeffrey P Davidson is a walking advertisement of assertiveness for idiots.

I live in a nice neighbourhood and I'm not used to being threatened. So when I got Jeff's letter, out of the blue, without warning, I found it extremely belligerent.
