Good friend and ad-jacker job-scraper vertical search impressario, Manic Manny Mohan (everyone's a good friend, right?) has informed me (exclusively?) that Recruit.net has an interesting new release out today.

It's a Job Index. You type in the job and country and it gives you the trends around it. Manny wants to know what everyone thinks and so do I.

The recruit.net job index is based on an aggregation of job data from thousands of online sources across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Singapore.

This includes jobs posted on corporate web sites, job boards, recruitment agencies, online classifieds and newspapers

There's only one problem. Most of my readers are evil North Americans and this ain't for them. But it's a great idea. I'm not a job board expert. Does anyone else have an index like this?

Big Bill Vick: How Much Do Recruiters Earn

Paul Hawkinson (The Fordyce Letter) surveys his 30K readers annually. I talked to him this week in preparation for a speech I'm delivering at NAPS, and these are his results for Perm recruiters who responded to his most recent survey.

These numbers are for total cash in - 1985, and typically contingency or committed fee recruiters with a year or greater tenure.

$230K - Solo Independent
$234K - Independent office multiple recruiters
$239K - Franchise Recruiter (ie MRI, etc.)

For what it's worth he also feels Finance and Accounting is the HOT discipline followed by sales and that fees are hovering around 25% for most recruiters with the exception of Sales which is lower in most cases.
