I was on Facebook last week and I saw a posting that said God doesn't want you to be happy. That's not what life is about. I think the Ayatollah Khomeini said that too. And I don't agree.
Recruiters, I want you to know something. God wants you to be happy. That's what he says in the bible. Follow my rules and I'll make you happy.
Even in the book of Job, all kinds of awful things happen to a really nice guy and he doesn't say, "This is the way it's supposed to be. Life is supposed to be rotten." No, he says, "I don't deserve this."
And God says, "Yeah I know, you're right. But, sometimes, things happen, you know, that I can't explain". And then God makes him happy. He cures his terrible illness and his kids died so he gives him new kids and he lost all his cattle so God gives him new cattle. Who can read that and say that God doesn't want you to be happy?
And look at what recruiters do. Don't we emulate God? We want people to be happy too. So we get them new jobs with more pay. And we get companies the people they need.
But what about those companies that we take people from? Are they happy? Maybe not. But it's like God told Job: some things you can't explain. But that doesn't mean that God doesn't want you to be -- or you're not supposed to be -- happy.
I'll tell you one group of people, though, who don't seem to be made for happiness. And that's the people who listen to this show. No matter what I do, they're never happy. And, Jerry, Jerry, what show is this?
