Hi everybody. Yeah it's me The Recruiting Animal, back for my weekly check-up. And I'm going to start off by talking a bit about my guest for today, Dave Lefkow.
I've known of him for some time. After all, even though he doesn't write on it much he's had a blog for a couple of years. From his picture he looked like a real Clark Kent type to me. A mild mannered VP of sales for a great metropolitan technology company. But I really didn't know anything about him. So I thought that I would invite him on the show and find out.
And Dave agreed to come on the show so yesterday I sent him a bunch of questions so he'd have a chance to think them over and be able to prepare some good lines that would make him look smarter and funnier than he would ordinarily be. You know what I'm saying? I'm a pretty nice guy and I wanted him to look good.
Now one of the questions was "What is the most controversial thing you have to say?" I ask that all the time and so far no one has had anything worthwhile to say. So this time I figured I'd give the guy a chance to think of something in advance it might be more interesting.
But I get an email back from Dave that reads: "Re: your controversial question. what’s your intent there?" So I told him I want to keep the show interesting and controversial issues are interesting. So then I get another email from Dave. It said:
I can talk about controversial topics and I have strong opinions about a lot of things, but if you're trying to get me to say something that insults, demeans or disparages someone, that's just not gonna happen.
So I wrote him back. I said "Dave if you're trying to make me mad to liven up the show, you're doing a very good job."
So then he didn't write back to me but then I saw this on his blog:
Some of the more inflammatory blogs actually might hurt peoples' chances of finding work at certain companies - and I don't want to pick on anyone, but The Recruiting Animal comes to mind. But who knows maybe he's just insane!
Who knows, Dave? I'll tell you who knows? You're going to know, Dave. Very soon. Because, live from Toronto
I'm the Recruiting Animal and this is The Recruiting Animal Show!!!
